William Rose started playing the cello in 5th grade when he was 10 years old at Mattaponi Elementary School in Prince George's county. In the 6th grade he moved to Howard County, and played at Hammond Middle School and Hammond High School. After high school, Mr. Rose got his Bachelors in Music Education degree from Towson University. He has studied the cello with Dr. Benjamin Meyers of Howard Community College and Dr. Cecylia Barczyk of Towson University, and has been playing since 1999. In 2017 he received his Master of Arts in Teaching from National University, and earned National Board Certification in 2018.
He loves teaching elementary school strings and has taught at Hammond ES, Manor Woods ES, Gorman Crossing ES, Pointer's Run ES, and currently is the Orchestra Director at Centennial Lane ES.
After school, he loves rocking out on his electric cello!
